The Greatest Love of All

How do you prove you love who and what you are? By pampering your personal desires? By being true to yourself?

There’s no definite answer, actually. The keyword here is happiness. No matter what you do – just be sure you’re not hurting anyone – be sure you’re making yourself happy doing it.

If you’re happy, you smile and laugh a lot. If you’re not sad, you will not focus on the negativity of life. You will have the ability to trust and to believe in the innate goodness of people.

So how do you love yourself?

Example scenario: You and your husband both go to work. When you’re both home, the husband watches television and you cook the dinner while washing the morning dishes or loading the washing machine.

You are beginning to feel resentful but cannot do anything to alter the situation. You are afraid to show dissatisfaction for fear of showing bad example as a role model to the children.

If you’re like this wife, look at the mirror now. I’ll bite my pen if you’d see a smiling face – not an old hag looking unhappy and harassed.

And when your husband noticed how bad you look after years of marriage, do not be shocked when he decides to get a young and pretty mistress!

The problematic situation you’re saddled with would turn to worse — if you refused to change, if you wouldn’t learn to love yourself.

Your husband fell in love with the woman who looked desirable because she took care of herself. As a mother and wife, you take care of your family because you love them. As a matured woman, you must still take care of your whole appearance.

Start taking of yourself. Pay attention to your face, skin, and body. Concentrate with what you currently have. Never mind the spongy tummy.

Get a new hairstyle. Nourish your skin with homemade beauty products. Mix honey and calamansi juice to make a facial mask that exfoliates as well as rejuvenates. Scrub ripe papaya peelings to elbows, knees, and armpits to eliminate darkened spots.

When you’re looking good, you feel good and your eyes sparkle with inner happiness. The people around you will notice. The husband will definitely notice you’re looking different, especially when other men looks at you with admiration. A confident woman is sexier than a young girl.

The greatest love of all is the love of your own self.
